It all started on June 15th 1956 when John & some of his friends (Eric Griffiths, Len Garry, Colin Hanton, Pete Shotton and Rod Murray) played at the Woolton village summer fete. Their "Skiffle" group, The Quarrymen, had a couple of performances that afternoon. It was one of these that Paul McCartney saw, and he introduced himself to John after being impressed with his performance and imagination.
The soon became great friends, and they began to write songs (although Paul had already written some before they met). This was the beginning of probably the most famous song-writing couple in the history of music.
